I Am Practical and Expect Miracles

“I am practical and expect miracles, when I just take the first step forward every day.”
There are times in life when we need more than inspiration. We need words that can accompany us through uncertainty, discouragement, and change.
This mantra grew out of the simple phrase:
“Be Practical and Expect Miracles.”
By changing “be” to “I am,” the words become personal.
They are no longer advice from someone else. They become a quiet affirmation spoken from within.
Two Truths
The statement holds two truths together.
- To be practical is to take the next step, however small.
- To expect miracles is to remain open to possibilities we cannot yet see.
The first step may be humble:
- May simply be getting out of bed.
- It may be making a telephone call,
- writing the first sentence of a new project,
- taking a walk, or
- reaching out to someone we love.
Normal Voice, Whispered & Silently Read
Spoken in your normal voice, whispered softly, and then held silently in the mind, this mantra reminds us that transformation often begins with ordinary actions repeated over time.
You may wish to repeat these words several times, allowing them to settle gently into your awareness:
I am practical and expect miracles,
when I just take the first step forward every day.
